Lil Rod accused Diddy of “stealing” publishing owed to him for his work on The Love Album: Off The Grid and attempted to raise money to sue the Hip-Hop mogul weeks before the lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and assault.
Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a $30 million lawsuit claiming Diddy would walk around naked and would g#### his genitals and touch his a###.
He further claims that he was forced to watch a video of Stevie J. having sex with another man. Lil Rod included screencaps allegedly taken from the video in his legal filing.
However, weeks before news of the lawsuit surfaced, Lil Rod called out Diddy on Instagram and launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Me Sue Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.”
On February 3, he shared a video of himself and the mogul apparently discussing his publishing. In the caption, Lil Rod claimed he’s been “quietly fighting for my publishing for months.”
Stevie J. Responds To Lil Rod’s Publishing Claims
Stevie J. who was part of Bad Boy’s legendary Hitmen production team, responded to the video in the comment section.
“Post the whole video don’t make it seem like n##### sitting around joking on you,” he began. “You didn’t produce 9 songs on the project. Adding a piano on a song doesn’t make you the producer adding bass on a song definitely doesn’t make you a producer. Tell the whole story on how you came in as an engineer, don’t get selective amnesia and don’t try to make the homie look like he stealing from you because clearly I know that ain’t the case!”
Lil Rod refuted his claims and said, “this video clearly speaks to them plotting on my pub,” before accusing Stevie J of “possibly working with them against me.”
A few days later, on February 7, Lil Rod shared a video detailing his gripe with Diddy.
Lil Rod claimed he “took a year off” to work on The Love Album: Off the Grid, often working around the clock for days until Diddy was satisfied.
He also said he was paid “pennies” for his work and claimed the contract he was offered was “disgusting.” Lil Rod also accused Diddy of trying to steal his publishing but insisted, “I’m not gonna let that happen.”
Meanwhile, Diddy’s legal team has vehemently denied the accusations in the lawsuit. Diddy’s lawyer claimed, “We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies.”
In addition, Stevie J. labeled the suit “bogus,” and an adult film star has come forward claiming he is the man in the screencaps included in the filing, and not Stevie J.
